CDC case study

A smarter way to reach HIV prevention resources.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) set out to modernize how evidence-based HIV prevention resources reach healthcare professionals and community organizations. Mobomo worked with the CDC on the redesign of the Effective Interventions website, transforming a static, PDF-driven repository into a dynamic, user-friendly digital platform that streamlines discovery, improves accessibility, and supports nationwide adoption of proven HIV prevention strategies.

the challenge

Modernizing HIV prevention resources.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) needed a better way to deliver evidence-based HIV prevention interventions to healthcare providers and community organizations. Their existing repository consisted largely of static PDFs, making it difficult for users to locate, compare, and apply the right strategies for their populations. This created barriers to implementation and slowed the dissemination of critical public health guidance.

To overcome these challenges, the CDC required a more dynamic, intuitive, and accessible digital experience. The new platform needed to support users working in diverse environments, accommodate a wide range of intervention types, and provide a streamlined way to maintain and update content as research and recommendations evolved.
